At Melton Christian College, the Payroll Officer plays a vital role in supporting our commitment to caring for our staff through accurate, timely and compliant payroll services.  This position is part of the Finance and Risk Team reporting to Finance Manager and works closely with the Human Resources functions and the Director of Business Operations.

Job Description

The Payroll Officer ensures staff are paid in accordance with College policies, employment agreements, and relevant legislation, while also contributing to financial reporting, workforce planning and compliance requirements.  This role values integrity, stewardship and service which are key to maintaining trust and operational excellence within our growing College.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Share the vision and purpose of the College, reflecting God’s character in all that we are
  2. Reliable, able to maintain confidentiality, have a mature attitude with well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  3. Committed to Christian education and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ
  4.  Accounting/Finance qualification or relevant accounting or finance experience
  5. Proven experience in end-to-end payroll functions
  6. A team player with well-developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  7. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  8. Competent with Microsoft Office Package
  9. Experience working with computerised accounting & payroll software.  School accounting & payroll software is desirable
  10. Proven experience in Awards interpretation and relevant legislation
